Hi Tony,

They're seeing a cached version of that post.  You can see what they see by going here:

https://developers.facebook.co.....rograms%2F

I got to that by going to https://developers.facebook.co.....og/object/ and entering the URL for that post and clicking Fetch new and then scrolling down to the See exactly what our scraper sees for your URL link at the bottom.

Not sure why they're seeing a cached page that has no Open Graph tags but that's the problem.  Make sure to disable all caching for now.

If I scrape a unique version of that URL such as https://qigongawareness.com/me.....klajdsecfh then the same happens which shouldn't happen.

Hello,

I've added the details for https://www.homelendingpal.com.....rtgage-fit still don't have the article image being shown when the link is shared on Facebook.

The first error message I received was that the image was an invalid content type. Now I am getting this error message: Object at URL 'https://www.homelendingpal.com/how-much-home-can-i-afford-using-ai-to-find-your-perfect-mortgage-fit/' of type 'article' is invalid because the given value '164252630922135' for property 'fb:admins' could not be parsed as type 'fbid'.

How do I fix to ensure image is shown when links are shared?

Okay, thanks. That makes sense. I'll work on disabling caching.

The error from Facebook is that the Facebook Admin ID you entered is not valid so delete the Facebook Admin ID and you should be fine (https://semperplugins.com/docu.....k-admin-id).  Remember that Facebook caches information for 7 days so you'll need to wait 7 days or use their debug tool (https://developers.facebook.co.....og/object/) to try to get them to clear their cache and rescrape your post.

If using Autoptimize and have inline CSS checked off, then you end up triggering the error. I got in touch with Autoptimize and they let me know to uncheck that box in their plugin and that resolved the issue.

Steve Mortiboy said
That error message means that there is whitespace in one of the PHP files such as a blank line or space before the opening PHP tags or after the closing PHP tags.  When this happens, an XML file will show that error.  You should start by gong through your theme files checking for whitespace.  You may also want to reinstall WordPress and deactivate all plugins to ensure there's not whitespace in any WordPress PHP file or in any plugin PHP file.

Hi Steve,

does this error appear with a whitespace in any php file or in one specific? I've the same error in my site.

Thanks,

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

It can be in any PHP file in WordPress, your active theme or active plugins.

However, you can narrow it down to a theme file or a plugin file by 1). switching your theme to the default Twenty Twenty theme; and 2). deactivating each active plugin one at a time.  By testing this way you can see if the error goes away after each deactivation.

Well,

I duplicated the site on localhost and, surprise, the sitemap is correct. No errors. I didn't want to make any experiment directly because it's online. If there was a whitespace in any file, I should find the error in the online site and in the local too. Or not?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Stefano,

Yes, you would typically see the error on both sites.  It's possible that something changed when you duplicated the site to your localhost or it could be that you've got something cached on the live site.

Hi Steve,

I made some "experiments" and I found there is a problem with the WPBakery Page Builder plugin.

Thank you.

Hi Steve,

The FB debug tool isn't showing an image. I'm getting the error message below:

Provided og:image URL, https://www.homelendingpal.com.....24x645.png could not be processed as an image because it has an invalid content type.

I've deactivated all plugins, cleared cache, and used the default theme as suggested here: https://semperplugins.com/docu.....-seo-pack/

Any other ideas of how to fix the image? The issue was only on FB originally but is now not showing on LinkedIn either.

Hi Bryan,

If you browse to that image you'll see the cause of your problem.  Your server is returning a 403 Forbidden error for that image.  I have no idea why your server would do that so you may just want to update a new image to your Media Library and see if you get the same 403 error when you browse to it.  For example, this image works fine - https://www.homelendingpal.com......31-PM.png

My sitemap is showing pages that don't exist when i have media/attachments enabled

for example, therevrepublic.com/3370 is one and there are 5 more. google is reporting these are 404s of course because they are; they dont exist. i tried disabling, clearing cache, and then re-enabling the sitemap and its still doing the same thing.

How can I remove these nonexistent 'attachments' from my sitemap?

Hi Eden,

There are a number of plugins that I believe add breadcrumbs to a site although they may need some integration with your theme.  As this is not a feature of our plugin it's not something we can help you with.  I would start by searching in the WordPress plugins repository for such plugins - https://wordpress.org/plugins/

Hi John,

These are typically caused by plugins or themes that don't handle media attachments correctly so that when a post is deleted where media was attached, they leave an orphan attachment.  We're aware of this and have an issue open to address how we handle them but given that the problem is caused by a theme or plugin, there may not be much we can do.

There is a helpful plugin called Media Library Assistant (https://wordpress.org/plugins/.....assistant/) that you can use to identify these and I believe provide a way to handle orphaned media attachments.

If you don't use media attachments on your site then you can exclude them from the XML sitemap so that you're not submitting these to search engines.

The Generatepress theme I am using is Using Hooks to hook the breadcrumps shortcode from your plugin.

I have talked with their support - and they told me that all I need is the breadcrumps shortcode to all in one seo plugin.

Plz see this guide they have for breadcrumps from yoast seo for example https://docs.generatepress.com.....eadcrumbs/

As you also can see here yoast have wrote an article for how to implement breadcrumps if it is not built in the theme https://kb.yoast.com/kb/implem.....eadcrumbs/

I know you are not yoast seo and I really am happy with your plugin with my other sites, I have tried Breadcrumps plugin but no luck with them,

plz just check for me the shortcode for breadcrumps integration with my theme.

Hi Eden,

We don't have breadcrumbs in our plugin.  It's on our roadmap to add in a future release.

I'm sorry but this is not something we can help you with.
